7. A sign of a good massage is being really sore on the next day
Not at all! Although it is normal to feel a bit tenderness, especially I you choose a deep tissue massage, but it is not normal to be totally exhausted. You may experience some discomfort and pain during a massage, but it is only because your muscles are stressed. We focus on keeping this in a moderated range around 6-7 in a 1-10 pain scale, because that is the most efficient!
8. Massage can get rid of cellulite
Absolutely not. Unfortunately many people try to make money based on this false assumption. A healthy diet and exercising can reduce cellulite, and massage can help you recover from that pain in the muscles so you can be better and better.
9. You don’t need to discuss my medical history with my therapists
Wrong! Please let your therapist know about any conditions that might be contraindicated with massage. This includes some forms of disease, medications, and surgeries. If you’re not sure if massage is right for you, check with your doctor. You can also ask one of our Massage Therapists here and we will try to give you the best answer possible.
